Licensing Requirements for the State of Washington

Low-Voltage/Limited-Energy License: A statewide license, considered as "Class B basic electrical work" defined as basic electrical work that requires minimal electrical circuit modifications and has limited exposure hazards (class II, class III or power-limited, low-voltage systems not exceeding 100 V/A).

Low Voltage Specialty Licenses:
Electrical Contractor (can perform all high- and low-voltage work) 01
Electrician Limited Energy (requires company and individual to carry license) 06
Electrician Telecommunications (requires only company to carry license, not individual) 09


Electrician: A statewide electrician license is required.

Electrical Contractor: A statewide electrical contractors license is required.
