Default IEI Hbmax 3 (Can this be done?)

Sometimes what I order and what I am supplied for my job are two different things. But getting past that and on to my question. I would like to know that if you had to and had no other choice, could you take a camera power supply at approximately 1amp per channel and tie all channels together in parallel to get with an 8 channel 8 amps? Reason I ask is I am tying into a relay for the fire panel. And if not, why, and how would you go about achieving the desired results. Order the right power supply, right?

In most cases, a multi-output power supply is actually 1 power supply split into separate fused outputs. Using your meter, verify that all of the negatives are common to each other and all of the positives are common to each other. If so, you shouldn't have any problem.

All of the fused outputs get their power from a single source, don't they? A single transformer or converter (AC-DC) board? A single point of commonality that could be interrupted with the fire relay without have to worry about all the positives or negatives are common with each other? Just a thought

Thank you for your responses. It worked just fine the outputs were all common. But to answer your question, the camera power supply is a 110 plug in adapter like a computer cable.
