Question So whats a handhole???

I don't want to sound stupid but I was in a conversation with a guy who does outdoor lighting and told me he installed a handhole and spliced from there.

I just said that cool!

So whats a handhole???

It could also be a common point for underground conduit to terminate for easy pull thru's. No splice. Lots of possibilities.

a handhole is a green plastic box that the power company requires us to use next to the pole on underground services then on inspection they fail the job because they say the handhole will fill up with water!

it doesnt. the poco around here writes there own requirements and gives us a book thats similar to a code book and we have to follow or they dont turn power on
